Things to do in Naples

People have been vacationing in Naples, Florida for decades, taking advantage of the weather and the area’s beautiful natural surroundings. But what if you’re visiting Naples for the first time, how will you know what the most popular attractions are in the area? We have put together a list of our Top 5 things to do in Naples to help you see the best the area has to offer.

Top 5 Things To Do In Naples, Florida

#5 Naples Zoo

The Naples Zoo is the perfect place to explore the animal kingdom. Come face to face with towering giraffes, speedy cheetahs, playful lemurs of Madagascar, African lions, fierce alligators and even a tiger. There are plenty of captivating exhibits to stop at while strolling along the mile long paved path. Don’t miss one of the zoo’s exciting animal shows, interactive activities and educational programs for all ages. For more information, visit

#4 Everglades Excursions

The eastern edge of Naples dissolves into the Everglades. Called the “River of Grass,” the Everglades boast many different types of eco-systems; swamps, dry areas called hammocks, the Big Cypress National Preserve and vast mangrove mazes. It’s hot, swampy, buggy and full of alligators, but it’s also one of the most amazing natural areas on the planet. You can tour Big Cypress National Preserve in a (gator-proof and nicely air conditioned) bus or get a little closer on a high-speed airboat ride or try one of the slower and more intimate jungle cruises through Everglades National Park. Stay at the Port of the Islands Everglades Adventure Resort and take advantage of the many tours they offer.

#3 Dolphin & Sunset Cruise

Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico are home to a large population of Bottlenose Dolphins. These friendly animals love to ride boat wakes and show off for clapping on-lookers. Here are a few companies that will take you through Naples Bay to watch the dolphins, view the mansions of Port Royal and then cruise into the Gulf for a famous Naples sunset.

#2 Shopping & Dining Districts

Naples is known for fantastic open-air restaurants and stylish boutique shopping. Areas like Naples’ Fifth Avenue South, 3rd Street South, Tin City, the Mercato and Bayfront are all must visit areas for a new Naples visitor.

#1 Naples Beaches

Of all the attractions that Naples offers, it’s the miles and miles of white sandy beaches that lure people to Naples from all over the world. Naples’ beaches treat guests to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With magical sunsets, calm Gulf waters and amazing seashells—the beaches are a Naples must. Beaches like Vanderbilt Beach, Naples Municipal Beach (Naples Pier), and Lowdermilk Park Beach are usually busier with tourists and locals. While other beaches, such as Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park & Beach and Clams Pass Beach Park are a little less populated, and more secluded.

There are so many great things to do in Naples that we couldn’t list them all, but the five listed above will give any first time visitor a well-rounded experience of what Naples is all about.

Come visit Naples, Florida…paradise is waiting.

Park Shore Resort Guest Reviews

We loved it!!!
We decided to take a family vacation, and due to the size of our party, we booked two – two bed/two bath with full kitchen units. They were gorgeous….granite counter tops, every possible item you could need was in the kitchen. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. The kids loved looking at the turtles and ducks that were in the ponds. The resort was in a great location and close to everything. We would definitely return!

Beautiful Resort!
I couldn’t have been more pleased with my stay at Park Shore Resort in Naples. From booking the room, to checking in through the duration of our stay and checking out, everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were wonderful. So much more space and amenities than I expected. The word “condo” probably should have clued me in, but it took seeing the two bedroom, two bath, full kitchen, dining area and living space to fully appreciate it. The resort itself is beautiful – our balcony overlooked the central island with its walkways, grilling area and gorgeous pool. Restaurants, shopping and the beach is within walking distance or a very short car trip. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Great location and great price
The Park Shore Resort was fantastic. Large rooms that could definitely sleep 6 with a king size bed, two single beds and a pull out couch. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking accessories which made it easy to stay in for breakfast and pack lunches to help save a little money. If you like to BBQ there are grills available as well. Pool is very clean and warm, small hot tub but very nice. The grounds are well kept and have various wildlife such as turtles, ducks and a cat roaming the grounds. I would definitely stay at this resort again, its located perfectly between downtown Naples and the Vanderbilt Beach area. If you like to golf they can set you up with tee times and some discounts.

Best place to stay
My family and I stayed for 7 nights. It was a wonderful experience, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen had every thing I needed to prepare diner (except the food). The balcony was large. The atmosphere was exceptional. I loved this place and we are looking forward to going back in August. I totally recommended this place with family. My daughter enjoyed it a lot.

Feels like home
This Resort is absolutely nice, peaceful, clean, etc…I totally recommend it and will certainly be coming back next fall!:) The units are like an apartment, all are well kept and equipped with basically everything you need. Just check in and go buy your groceries and cook in the unit. The kitchen has everything in it from plates to blender. The front desk people are very nice and very polite they have a great customer service.
